A talented singer with a name that means “the life” are both descriptions of LaVie—an artist that was born, raised, and started her career in North Miami.

Born Charline Fleuremon, LaVie was just 17 years old when she realized her gift of singing. She decided to use it to “encourage and empower all people to seek out and experience the life that God intends for all to have!”

LaVie decided to pursue her music after she met Amelia Scott, her first mentor, at North Miami Senior High School.

Scott helped LaVie to realize her passions, which are singing and helping others.

“Doing music full time right now is a major blessing,” said LaVie.

With her contemporary sound, LaVie has traveled with local, national and international artists, including: Martha Munizzi, Nigel Lewis, Papa San, and Joe Pace. She also toured in 2015 on The Maestro East Coast Tour and visited New York City, Boston, D.C., Chicago, Detroit, and Pittsburgh to perform for thousands.

After visiting many major cities, LaVie still finds herself home, in North Miami.

“I just feel closer to North Miami because it’s literally home,” said LaVie.

“I remember walking the streets going to the store, Chef Creole, walking the hall ways of North Miami High. North Miami is where a majority of my foundation was laid. It’s absolutely home!”

LaVie has recently released two singles, Human and Alive—both are available everywhere digital music is sold. She’s also recording her project, Love Story, which will be released at a later date.

For now, you can find LaVie at North Miami stores or the neighborhood Chef Creole.

“I love the fact that I grew up here,” she said. “Now as an adult I’m able to get involved and they [North Miami] receive me with open arms.”
